FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
update
Maple Avenue RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT

This is an update on the Maple Avenue reconstruction project for the week of
August 22nd, 2009.

Beginning Saturday August 22nd, milling of the Maple Avenue road surface
will begin in preparation for paving of the roadway.

Paving is expected to commence beginning Monday August 24th. The new roadway
will be paved along Maple Avenue from Acer Court to Saddle River Road.

³I am delighted to have been able to bring this project to completion before
the new school year begins, as I had promised², stated Supervisor
Christopher St. Lawrence. He continued, ³Students, pedestrians and motorists
will enjoy a safer, upgraded and attractive new roadway.²

By the time paving is completed, almost all of the new curbs will have been
installed. The small portion of roadway across Route 306, which is part of
the New York State right-of-way, will be paved after the new light control
devices are installed.

The Maple Avenue re-construction project covers the location of Maple Avenue
between Acer Court and Saddle River Road. When completed, residents will
enjoy a new and wider roadway, new sidewalks, new curbs, bus turning lanes,
improved street lighting, new traffic lights, improved light control devices
and improved drainage.
