The Tragedies that occurred on Tisha B’ Av.
Ezras Torah:
Our Sages have emphasized that the essence of a fast day
is the process of Teshuva  Repentance. This is particularly so
for those sins that were responsible for the destruction of
the Beis HaMikdash, and yet, which we remain guilty of today.
Here is a partial listing of those transgressions:
Jerusalem was destroyed because:
the Jews profaned Shabbos.
they did not provide for the Torah education of their small children.
they did not recite the Shema morning and night.
they showed contempt for Torah scholars.
they had unwarranted hatred for each other.
they hardened their hearts to any fear of Divine retribution (see Gittin 55b).

The Holocaust is rooted in the destruction of the Temple --
which caused a loss of moral clarity in humanity.
Deportations from Warsaw Ghetto to the Treblinka
concentration camp begin.
"We Jews of Warsaw, sons of those exiles, sit on
the ground to mourn our own personal churban,
the destruction of a major community --
the largest and most vigorous in Europe...
We weep at our fate, a nation without a land,
within the grasp of our fiercest enemy
and condemned to death. We grieve both for
the loss of the Holy Temple and the extinction of our lives.
(Warsaw Ghetto Diaries, pgs. 55-6)

The beginning of the end of the
Warsaw Ghetto coincided with Tisha B'Av.
 Tisha B'Av  July 23, 1943,
The first trainload of Jews arrived at their destination,  Treblinka, and sent to the gas chambers.

The Convenient Mind
The mind will always find the answer most convenient for itself.
Even when searching for spirituality, for enlightenment, the mind
will only rest where there is enough room to remain a mind.
Therefore, on its own, it can never come to know the Infinite.
To reach the Infinite takes a sense that is beyond the need to exist,
the essential knowledge of the inner soul. Only once the mind has
drunken from that fountain can it be trusted to see beyond itself.

Tehillim
The following chapters of Tehillim are recited
for our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisrael:
Psalms 20, 83,121,130 and 142

Unexperience
If you can experience it, it could not be the most infinite.
If you can feel it, it couldn't be the essence of G-d.
The highest points in life are not the revelations and experiences.
The highest points are the times when you just do.
When you just do, you may not feel a thing.
You may not have a moment to ask yourself if you feel a thing.
But you are one with His essence and being. You are a ray of His light.
