A full volume test of the new alert and notification sirens located
throughout the emergency planning zone will be held Wednesday February 11,
2009 between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The sirens will sound for four
minutes.

In an actual emergency, the new sirens would sound simultaneously at full
volume for four minutes. The sirens are not a signal to evacuate but rather
to alert the public to tune to their local Emergency Alert System (EAS)
radio or television station (100.7 FM-WHUD) for important information.
