If G–d had made a perfect world, what need would there be for wisdom?
So He left shattered vessels for us to repair. And in doing so, we engage a wisdom deeper

Bread from Heaven
Your place is the wilderness. The bread you eat falls from heaven.
The basket you collect it in is your attitude.
Clutch your basket tight and your manna will have no place to rest.
Open it up and look to the heavens and your basket will always be full.
Tzvi Freeman
Daily Dose from the Rebee
Maaneh Rach, ch.5; Rabbi Pliskin's Gateway to Happiness, p.175)
If you give up your demands for more possessions
and material matters, you will save yourself much needless sadness.
Sadness does not come from lacking possessions,
but from your "lack of acceptance" at not having them.
Next time, when you are unable to acquire something,
accept that you do not have it --
and avoid adding emotional pain to your practical problem of not having that thing.
Should you avoid material possessions?
No. Just don't make oneself sad about those things you do not have.

A full volume test of the new alert and notification sirens located
throughout the emergency planning zone will be held Wednesday February 11,
2009 between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The sirens will sound for four
minutes.
In an actual emergency, the new sirens would sound simultaneously at full
volume for four minutes. The sirens are not a signal to evacuate but rather
to alert the public to tune to their local Emergency Alert System (EAS)
radio or television station (100.7 FM-WHUD) for important information.

Breaking News Wesley Hills- Water Main Break
BY JANE LERNER AND ROB RYSER
THE JOURNAL NEWS • FEBRUARY 4, 2009
WESLEY HILLS - Police and emergency work crews are at the scene of a water main break near the corner of Route 202 at Wilder Road, according to United Water.
The break in the 16-inch main was reported shortly after 6 a.m. today, according to utility spokesman Steve Goudsmith
"With freezing temperatures, water main breaks are not uncommon this time of year," Goudsmith said.
Ramapo police were diverting traffic off Route 202.
The road was covered in ice near the site of the water main break.
Several customers in the area have reported low water pressure or no water service, Goudsmith said.
The utility will decide later in the day if it needs to issue a warning to boil water before using it.

The Image
How you treat others is how G-d treats you.
How you forgive them is how He forgives you.
How you see them is how He sees you.
When you show empathy for the plight of another human being,
G-d takes empathy in your plight.
When others slight you and you ignore the call to vengeance that burns inside,
G-d erases all memory of your failures toward Him. When you see the image
of G-d in another human being, then the image of G-d becomes revealed within you.
