DAILY DOSE: Creating a Need for Wisdom By Tzvi Freeman If G–d had made a perfect world, what need would there be for wisdom? So He left shattered vessels for us to repair. And in doing so, we engage a wisdom deeper than that which fashioned the earth, the sun and the stars. From the wisdom of Rabbi Menachem Schneerson, of righteous memory
EXCERPTS FROM GROWING EACH DAY RABBI ABRAHAM J. TWERSKI How great are Your ways, 0 God (Psalms 92:6). The Midrash states that when King David completed his Psalms, he was elated that he had been able to compose such wonderful praises to God. A frog then appeared and said, "Do not let your compositions go to your head. Every day I sing more beautiful hymns to God than you do." While we may be proud of our achievements, we should realize how they pale before the majestic natural phenomena that are the immediate handiwork of God.

A PARENT’S PRAYER For recitation Thursday May 21st, or Friday May 22nd All parents want the best for their children — that they should be good and upright, that they have everything they need for a fruitful, joyous life.
The classic work, Shelah HaKadosh, contains a prayer that parents should recite for their children at any time of the year — but especially before Rosh Chodesh Sivan, (which is Sunday, May 24th) for that is the month when HaShem gave us the Torah, and when the Jewish people began to be called His Children. This year it is preferable to recite it on Thursday. It may also be recited on Friday.
THE TEXT OF THE PRAYER IS IN THE ATTACHMENT. HEBREW with English translation. Three pages. AS A PUBLIC SERVICE, WE OFFER THE TEXT OF THE PRAYER FOR DOWNLOADING. See: http://www.artscroll.com/parentprayer.html

POLLEN Trees High Grasses HIGH Weeds out of season DAILY DOSE: G-d Within By Tzvi Freeman Before the Baal Shem Tov, people thought of G-d as the One who directs all things from above and beyond. The Baal Shem Tov taught that the vital force of each thing, from which comes its personality, its sense of pain and pleasure, its growth and life -- that itself is G-d. Not that this is all of G-d. It is less than a glimmer of G-d, because He is entirely beyond all such descriptions. But that life force is G-d as He is found within each creature He has made. From the wisdom of Rabbi Menachem Schneerson, of righteous memory
Fertile Wisdom If King David, who learned nothing from Achitofel except for two things alone, nevertheless referred to him as his "master," "guide," and "intimate," it certainly goes without saying that one who learns from his fellow a single chapter, a law, a verse, a saying, or even a single letter of Torah, is obligated to revere him. -Ethics Of The Fathers, 6:3
