Psalms 20, 83,121,130 and 142
Eight Israelis held by terrorists in Mumbai Chabad House'
By DAVID HOROVITZ, MATTHEW WAGNER, AND JPOST STAFF
Indian commandos and police were evacuating civilians and cordoning off the area apparently in preparation to storm the Chabad House in Mumbai, India, where a rabbi, his wife and several other Israelis were being held hostage, according to IBN, an Indian news agency.
Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and wife Rivka with their son.
Chabad spokesman in Israel, Moni Ender, said there were eight Israelis inside the house, including Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and his wife Rivka Holtzberg..
Several other Israelis were reportedly being held at the Oberoi Hotel, Israel Radio reported.
Newscasters were calling it the "final assault" on the Nariman House, where Chabad headquarters are located, adjacent to the Leopold Cafe, a major tourist center in Mumbai's Colaba area, which was also attacked Wednesday night.

Any Soul
In every person, there lies all souls that ever were and will be.
After all, all of consciousness began in a single being, with a single breath of G–d
within that being. And so, just as every cell of the human being contains the blueprint
of every other cell and of the whole person from the makeup of his brain to the swirls
of his fingerprints, so every single person contains the entire humankind.
If so, He has rendered each of us the master of human destiny.
In the liberation of any one of us lies the liberation of us all.

Wesley Hills Town Message:
Some of you may have noticed that your bagged leaves were not picked up last
weekend. Unfortunately, the garbage truck broke down in the middle of the
run, so they were unable to complete the pickup. They will be sending a
special truck out tomorrow (Tuesday) to pick up the remaining bags of
leaves. This is separate and independent of the regular trash pickup that
will occur. We are sorry of any inconvenience.

Wesley Hill Message from the Mayor - Road Safety
The following is from the November letter from Wesley Hills. The following are excerpts
Concerned with ROAD SAFETY.
For full newsletter:
http://www.wesleyhills.org/News/Newsletters/newsletter%20Nov08.pdf
Road Safety
Recently, there were two unfortunate hit-and-run accidents in the Village.
In the first instance, a 55 year old man was crossing Route 306 at 12:30 in the morning.
He was wearing dark clothing and no reflectors of any kind.
Prior to the accident, the man was often seen wandering around and across Route 306. It
was reported that the man was walking home after the Sukkot Holiday, and that there was
more traffic due to the Holiday. Neither of those statements is valid During the Holiday,
traffic is much lighter than normal in the Village, and the Holiday ended at 7:00 pm, more than
5 hours before the accident occurred. In fact, the victim was returning from the Mobil station
where he had just made a purchase, something that would not occur during the Holiday. The
accident occurred within feet of a sidewalk that currently exists on the West side of Route
306, beginning at Willow Tree Road, going North for several hundred feet. Therefore,
sidewalks were not the issue here, especially since the victim was crossing the road at the
time.
In the second instance, three young boys were walking on Lime Kiln Road, when one of them
was hit and knocked into one of the other boys. Fortunately, in this case, the injuries were
not very serious. Once again, the boys were wearing dark clothing and no reflectors. The
accident occurred within feet of an existing sidewalk, but the boys were walking three abreast,
on the other side of the road, in the direction of traffic.
Both accidents are very upsetting. One of the largest concerns, is the fact that the drivers of
the vehicles did not stop.
Pedestrians need to keep in mind that cars and trucks use the roads, and therefore
need to take appropriate precautions:
Always use sidewalks where they exist.
Always walk on the side of the road facing traffic.
Do not walk two or three abreast.
Move over and/or walk single file when vehicles are present.
Always wear reflectors when walking at dusk or night.
Concerned with ROAD SAFETY.
