Insufficient Understanding
T
he material world is a place where each thing seems to say, "Here I am and here I always was."
—-as though it has no source.
In fact, only the Essence of All Things has no source. He was and is and always will be.
This is the truth of what our world is trying to tell us: It is only trying to express
—in a distorted way —its own true essence, the Essence of All Things that has no source.
But a time will be when the distortion shall vanish and we shall see nothing but that Essence.

Growing Each Day: (excerpts)-
Building by youth may be destructive, while when elders dismantle, it is constructive (Nedarim 40a).
It seems paradoxical, but it is true.
We make the most important decisions of our lives when we are young and inexperienced,
and our maximum wisdom comes at an age when our lives are essentially behind us,
and no decisions of great moment remain to be made.
Those who refuse to learn from the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them.
We would do well to swallow our youthful pride and benefit from the teachings of the school of experience.

Youthful Wisdom
Wisdom lives in the future, and from there it speaks to us.
There is no such thing as wisdom of the past.
Wisdom preceded the world and wisdom is its destiny.
With each passing moment, wisdom becomes younger as
we come closer to the time when it is born and breathes the air of day.
Our ancient mothers and fathers, the sages, all those
from whom we learn wisdom--they are not guardians of the past.
They are messengers of the future.
The truth can never be old-fashioned. It was never in fashion to begin with

(To a rabbi who wrote about "secular Jews" the Rebbe responded:)
You categorize them as religious Jews and secular Jews.
How dare you make such a distinction?
There is no such thing as a secular Jew! All Jews are holy.

National Spelling Bee: Cholent
Contestant 170   missed the word Cholent.
 (Correct spelling):   cholent
Error: by contestant - chollant
Dictionary spelling & meaning: (New Oxford American )
cholent |ˈ ch ôlənt; ˈ ch əl-|noun
a Jewish Sabbath dish of slowly baked meat and vegetables,
prepared on a Friday and cooked overnight.
ORIGIN from Yiddish tsholnt.
Wikipedia:
The word cholent is thought by some to be derived from the Old French words chaud meaning "hot" and lent meaning "slow". Others[1] believe it is derived from the Latin calent-, meaning "hot", via Old French chalant. The term chamin is Hebrew or Aramaic, and is mentioned in the Mishnah Tractate Shabbat (3:1), where it means hot water. Another hypothesized derivation for the word is from "shelan", which means "that rested". This refers to the old time cooking process of European families placing their individual pots of cholent into the town baker's oven's which remained hot overnight and slow cooked overnight.
Others say the  origin of Cholent started in the Sfardic communties prior to the Inquistion).
